The Tufts Libraries and the Tufts University Alumni Association (TUAA) are happy to announce that Tufts alumni can now access ABI-Inform , Expanded Academic Index, and Ovid MEDLINE from their homes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week free of cost. This initiative, funded by the Friends of the Libraries and the TUAA, puts Tufts University in the forefront of its peers in providing services to alumni.
- Expanded Academic Index, a multi-disciplinary database with full-text articles and/or abstracts from some 1,500 scholarly and trade journal in a wide variety of fields.
- ABI Inform, a business, finance, and economics database with full-text articles and/or abstracts from more than 1,700 premier business and management journals in both trade and scholarly fields.
- Ovid MEDLINE, A database of international biomedical journal literature including over 11 million citations and abstracts in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, allied health, and pre-clinical sciences. The database offers premier functionality including a MeSH thesaurus, full explosion and pre-explosion capability, subheadings, scope notes, and permuted index browsing. Alumni will also have full text access to seventeen of the Current Opinion titles through Ovid. Coverage, 1950-current; updated daily.
Accessing These Resources
Alumni can access these resources through the Tufts Alumni Online Community. Fletcher alumni can access the resources via the Fletcher Online Community. Likewise, Webster Veterinary Alumni can access the resources through the Vet School Online Community. Upon registration, alumni will select a username and password that will allow them to access the databases and other alumni services. Alumni must always go through the Online Community to access the databases via the "library databases" link.
