Borrowing From the Music Library


General Policy

Most Music Library materials, including sound recordings, may be borrowed by Tufts Arts and Sciences students, faculty, and staff. Music library reserve materials have limited circulation. Music reference materials and periodicals do not circulate, and thus must be used within the Music Library.

You must be a registered borrower with a Tufts ID, alumni card, or Boston Library Consortium Card in hand in order to borrow materials from the Music Library.

Loan Periods

Materials may be borrowed for the following loan periods:
User Books/Scores Compact Disks
Undergraduates 28 days 7 days
Graduate students 60 days 7 days
Faculty/Staff 6 months 6 months
Alumni 28 days 4 hours-In Library Use Only
Boston Library Consortium 28 days 4 hours-In Library Use Only

 

Contact Tufts Tisch Library Circulation Department for more information. Materials that are in demand (e.g., needed for music reserve or if requested by another borrower) will be recalled from the individual who has the material charged out.

Library Overdue Fines and Replacement Costs

Media Material Fine
Books/Scores/Recordings $0.25/day per item
CD-ROMS $1.00/day per item
Overdue Recalls $1.00/day per item
Replacement/Book $73.00 each
Replacement/Sound Recording $38.00 each

Library fines accrue according to the policy established by Tisch Library.
