Through Tufts, you have a FREE RefWorks account, which you can access from any Internet connection .
RefWorks is a web-enabled database tool that simplifies the "busy work" of research: collecting references and citing them in papers and bibliographies. RefWorks collects, stores and organizes book, article, web and other references and automatically converts those references into a properly formatted bibliography. You can use it to create an independent annotated bibliography or to format in-text citations, footnotes, or endnotes while you write your paper, using APA , MLA, Chicago/Turabian, or any one of hundreds of other formats.

RefWorks uses a system of folders to store references. You can create as many folders as needed, rename or delete them, and share citations among different folders.
Anyone who is listed in the Tufts Directory and has a valid and active Tufts UTLN account and password can obtain a RefWorks account, free of charge, through Tufts. Note: if you have problems with, or questions about your UTLN account, please follow the instructions provided at https://www.library.tufts.edu/ezproxy/utln.html
To sign up for an account, go to the RefWorks login page in the Tisch library website. Once here, click the Sign up for an Individual Account link underneath the phase “New to RefWorks?” Once you have created your account, you can begin using RefWorks. You will also receive a confirmatory email containing important information about your account, including your user name, password, and the Tufts Group Code, which enables you to access your account from outside the Tufts network.
If you are logging in from within the Tufts network, use the aforementioned login page About RefWorks page to start your session. If you are logging in from outside the Tufts network, you must enter the Tufts Group Code into the Group Access form.
Note: While the Tisch library staff provides training in the general use of RefWorks and compatible databases, it does not provide IT support or assistance with technical issues involving your computer, browser, or word-processing software. For technical support, contact RefWorks' own technical support services.
