Lilly Music Library Opens

After years of planning, Tufts unveiled a new music facility, the Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center. A prominent feature of this complex is the new Lilly Music Library, named in honor of Ruth E. Lilly, whose generosity made our vision a reality. Ruth E. Lilly’s granddaughter, Rebecca Lilly Brooks, is a Tufts alum, J1992, who is very interested in libraries and music.

The first day of Spring Semester initiated a new era for music at Tufts, and the Lilly Music Library is prepared to support the anticipated growth and inevitable excitement created by the new Granoff Music Center. Music library research at Tufts enters a whole new era with the opening of the Lilly Music Library!

Learning Commons

Friends' gifts have funded two collaborative research workstations in the pilot Learning Commons, each with seating for 4-6 users, a computer, a wireless keyboard/mouse, and a large flat panel LCD monitor. Located in the Tisch Library Reference area, the Learning Commons will also provide access to all the library's web resources, thus giving students the opportunity to conduct library research and create documents and presentations at the same time.

New Online Medical Information Resources

Hirsh Health Sciences Library and Tufts University Alumni Association (TUAA) have funded an additional online library resource available free of charge to Tufts alumni. Tufts alumni may access MEDLINE through the Ovid search engine. Click here for details.
