Finding Articles in JSTOR

HOW TO FIND AN ARTICLE IN JSTOR WHEN YOU HAVE A CITATION

You have the following citation:

Calvo, Guillermo, Leonardo Leiderman and Carmen Reinhart, “Inflows of Capital to Developing Countries in the 1990s,” Journal of Economic Perspectives, volume 10, no. 2, Spring 1996, pp. 123-140.

To find it in JSTOR, go to the Ginn Library home page, choose Journals and Databases, the A-Z List, and J for JSTOR.
Or, from the Tisch Library home page, in the Searching section, choose Databases and Articles, then J for JSTOR.

At the JSTOR home page:

Method 1:
  1. Since you know the name of the journal you are looking for, choose Browse.
  2. Choose the discipline, Economics.
  3. Click on the title of the Journal of Economic Perspectives (note the coverage dates).
  4. Click on the group of volumes that includes Volume 10.
  5. Scroll down to Volume 10, choose issue 2.
  6. Articles are listed in page order; scroll down until you find the title of the article.
  7. Click View Article.

Method 2:

  1. Choose Search.
  2. In Section 1 of the search form, type calvo in the first box and select author in the drop-down menu on the right.
  3. In the second box type a few words from the title, connected by and (for instance, inflows and capital); then select title from the drop-down menu on the right.
  4. In Section 2 either choose the entire discipline of Economics by clicking the box on the left or click the gray Expand the Journal List button at the top of this section, scroll down to the Economics journals listings and choose the Journal of Economic Perspectives.
  5. Then scroll down to Section 4 and click the Search button.
  6. One article will come up. Click View Article.
