Finding Articles in Science Direct

HOW TO FIND AN ARTICLE IN SCIENCE DIRECT WHEN YOU HAVE A CITATION

You have the following citation:

Klein, Michael and Nancy Marion, “Explaining the Duration of Exchange-Rate Pegs,” Journal of Development Economics 54, no. 2, December 1997.

To find it in Science Direct, go to the Ginn Library home page, choose Journals and Databases, the A-Z list, and S for Science Direct.
OR, from the Tisch Library home page, in the Searching section, choose Databases and Articles, then S for Science Direct.

At the Science Direct home page:

Method 1:
  1. Click on the green Publications button (top left).
  2. Click on j for Journal of Development Economics
  3. Scroll down until you find the journal title and click on it.
  4. Scroll to the Volume 54 and click on it.
  5. Scroll to the issue no. 2 and click on it.
  6. Scroll to your article (they are in page order).
  7. Click on the PDF format link to see the full text.
Alternative (Quick Search):
  • At the Journal of Development Economics page (after step 3) type a few key words from the title of the article (for instance, duration and pegs) in the Quick Search box at the top of the page.
  • Click go.

Method 2:

  1. Click on the green Search button (top left center).
  2. Type klein and marion in the first search box in the Term(s) section and in the drop-down menu on the right select Authors.
  3. Type development economics in the second box in the Term(s) section and in the drop-down menu on the right select Journal Name.
  4. Click the search button.
