A valid Tufts I.D. card is required to borrow any library materials. Our loan periods are:
Books and other materials held on reserve for courses use may be obtained at the Circulation Desk. Reading lists that have been supplied to the library are kept in binders at the desk. These lists are annotated with call numbers, material locations, and other relevant information. Some professors will post lists on their website or on Tufts University's Trunk Course Management System. You are limited to borrowing two items per course at any one time.
Ginn Library materials may be recalled after 7 days. Recalled materials cannot be renewed. Borrowers will be notified of recalled items via email.
All notices from the library will be sent out via Tufts email. The maintenance of your Tufts email account is necessary to ensure the prompt delivery of notices.
Borrowers are responsible for all materials charged out in their name and are liable for the following overdue charges if the materials are not returned when due:
A first overdue notice will be sent within two days of the date that the material was due, and a second overdue notice will follow within 7 days of the first notice. Unpaid fines will be billed through the Bursar. If lost materials are reported to the Circulation Desk immediately, the borrower will be charged for replacement and processing only and will avoid overdue charges.
All borrowers are responsible for overdue fines, replacement charges, and any other fees incurred as a result of unreturned /lost/damaged materials. Borrower accounts become delinquent when fees are in excess of $50.00. All borrowing privileges for delinquent accounts are suspended until the charges are resolved.

These items may not be checked out and must be used in the library.
Ginn Library borrowing privileges are extended to Tufts University Alumni following verification of their status through the University Office of Alumni Relations. Alumni borrowing privileges are for one year at a time. Borrower cards must be presented to borrow all Library materials.
Fletcher Alumni borrowers initially register their I.D. cards at the Ginn Library. Non-Fletcher Tufts Alumni register at the library associated with the college they attended (for example, Medical Alumni register at the Health Sciences Library). Any changes of personal information, such as change of address, should be done through that same library.
Once registered, alumni may borrow from all Tufts University Libraries. Borrowing privileges may vary at different Libraries. Contact the appropriate library for information.
