    Dr. Ed Yardeni’s Economic Network  From Ed Yardeni, Chief Investment Strategist for Prudential Financial.  This is a tremendous resource for information on the global economy. It contains a wealth of statistical information in chart and graphic formats.

    EDIRC  A gigantic list of economics departments, research centers and institutes located around the world, listed by country and searchable. Currently 4162 institutions in 178 countries and territories are listed.

    FindLaw's Law and Economics  A massive collection of resources on law and economics which includes topical bibliographic listings, free distribution of working papers in economics, journals listings, associations, directories, and much, much more.

    Global Macroeconomic and Financial Policy Site Maintained by Dr. Nouriel Roubini at New Yourk University's Stern School of Business, this site includes readings on the Asian Crisis, International Financial System, Financial Sector Issues, the economies of individual Countries, Exchange Rates and Policy Topics.

    Inomics  This site claims to be the “Internet site for Economists” with an excellent search engine.

    Paul Krugman's Offical Web Page The site includes a chronological listing and text of the Princeton University economist's articles and speeches, a special section on Japan and a list of his favorite links. 

    RePEc Allows searching for research papers in economics. Provides full-text access to many working papers.

    Resources for Economists on the Internet  Sponsored by the American Economic Association, this site lists more than 900 resources on the Internet. Items include data from and about countries around the world, links to scholarly communications (journals, working papers, etc.).  Considered by many to be the best general resource with something for everyone in each topic, it is also fully searchable.

    Rutgers University Economics Resources  Attempts to provide a large number of links to internet resources that interest Economists. Includes categories such as Electronic Data Sources and Archives, Journals and much more. 

    Social Sciences Research Network  This database gives full text, free access to articles and papers. 

    WebEc WebEc is an effort to categorize free information in economics on the WWW. WebEc is awarded, searchable and open for additions and comments. It contains the List of Economics Journals.

    WWW Virtual Library of Economics  This comprehensive list of links to Economics resources includes international economics resources, economic data, and law and economics. This site is particularly good starting point for research and other  in-depth materials, such as journals and other publications.

    American Institute for Economic Research  "…an independent non-profit research and educational organization. Through its regular publications, it keeps readers informed about important economic and financial issues."  Find sample research reports and their cost of living calculator here.

    Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy  BRIE has worked with academics, business leaders, and scholars from around the world from such wide-ranging disciplines as urban planning, political science, economics, and engineering to consider the real-world interactions of technology, markets and economies.

    Brookings Institution

    Cato Institute  This independent think tank, "seeks to broaden the parameters of public policy debate to allow consideration of more options that are consistent with the traditional American principles of limited government, individual liberty, and peace."  The site contains free access to Cato's "Daily Dispatch" as well as Adobe formatted "Foreign Policy Briefings."

    Center for Economic Performance  From the London School of Economics, the CEP is inter-disciplinary and primarily aims to examine: firstly, why some firms persistently succeed while others do not; and secondly, at the level of the nation, why some countries' economies work better than others.  The site provides access to the center's papers and research, datasets (especially on Russia) and seminar and conference information.

    Committee on the Status Of Women in the Economics Profession (CSWEP)  CSWEP works to assure that women's issues are considered in the committee work of the American Economic Association (AEA)  Their Annual Report is available here as well as a comprehensive links site focusing on women and minorities.

    Economic Policy Institute  “…a nonprofit think tank that seeks to broaden the public debate about strategies to achieve a prosperous and fair economy."  Full text reports and publications available free online.

    EDIRC  A directory of Economics Departments, Institutes and Research Centers in the world, organized by country.

    Hoover Institution  Based at Stanford University, the Hoover Institution is "a public policy research center devoted to advanced study on domestic public policy and international affairs."

    Institute for International Economics  Based in Washington, DC, the institute “…is a private, nonprofit, research institution devoted to the study of international economic policy. Since 1981 the Institute has provided timely, objective analysis of key international economic problems and proposed concrete solutions to them.”  The site includes lots of information on economic sanctions, the Japan crisis, the Asian Financial Crisis, and Euro Conversion.  Access to working papers, publications, speeches and testimony.

    Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES) Housed at Stockholm University, the IIES concentrates its research efforts in (i) macroeconomic analysis of open economies; (ii) foreign trade; and (iii) general economic theory and methodology.  Seminar papers and conference information are available here.

    Institute of International Economic Law (IIEL) at the Georgetown
    University Law Center "encourages and endeavors to facilitate thoughtful and scholarly research on a broad range of subjects that concern the relationship of law to international economic activity." They maintain a useful Researching IEL page and a comprehensive list of links.

    Jerome Levy Economics Institute  “...a nonprofit, nonpartisan, independently funded research organization.  Its research efforts are concentrated in research is concentrated in four program areas: employment policy and labor market structure, federal budget policy, financial markets and monetary policy, and international trade and competitiveness."  The site includes access to the working papers, policy briefs, congressional testimony plus links.

    Keidanren (Japanese Federation of Economic Organizations)

    National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)  “…a private, nonprofit research organization committed to promoting and disseminating unbiased economic research among public policymakers, business professionals, and the academic community." On entering with site with from a Fletcher log-on, you can receive free, downloads of reports in Adobe Acrobat.

    National Center for Policy Analysis  "...a nonprofit public policy research institute. Our website offers a wealth of analysis, debate, and in-depth research from around the world."  This site is truly comprehensive with everything from in-depth news and information, publications, papers, research, etc.

    Nobel Foundation

    RAND Corporation  "A nonprofit institution that helps improve public policy through research and analysis. Rand's broad research agenda helps policymakers strengthen the nation's economy, maintain its security, and improve its quality of life by helping them make choices in education, health care, national defense, and criminal and civil justice, among many other areas."

    World Economic Forum (WEF)  An independent and impartial international organization committed to improving the state of the world that serves to create global partnership of business, political, intellectual and other leaders of civil society to define and discuss the key issues on the global agenda.  An good resource for regional economic issues, research reports and publications.
