    Africare  A US-based organization specializing in African aid. Africare’s programs focus on food security and health, and include water resource development, environmental management, basic education, microenterprise development, governance initiatives, and emergency humanitarian aid

    Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED)  An international relief organization headquartered in France and active in 12 countries: Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kosovo, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Serbia, Macedonia, Nicaragua, Congo-Brazzaville, Congo RDC and Iraq

    Catholic Relief Services (CRS)  A US-based organization motivated by the Gospel of Christ that provides direct aid to the poor in the US and overseas.  Program areas include agriculture, health, education, peacebuilding and emergency response, and emphasize capacity building, food security, gender and justice

    Direct Relief International  Focuses on improving the health of people in developing countries and victims of natural disasters, war, and civil unrest. Work includes the provision of medicines, supplies and equipment

    InterAction  An alliance of US-based international development and humanitarian NGOs that works toward the alleviation of poverty and suffering by advancing social justice and basic dignity

    International Medical Corps (IMC)  A global organization that seeks to save lives and relieve suffering through health care training and relief and development programs

    International Rescue Committee (IRC)  Provides resettlement assistance, global emergency relief, rehabilitation, and advocacy for refugees 

    International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)  Provides information on the Federation's disaster relief operations as well as links to press releases, news reports and publications

    Médecins sans Frontières (MSF) (Doctors without Borders) An independent medical aid agency, MSF is committed to providing medical aid in crisis centers and across the world

    Mercy Airlift  Supplies transportation to disaster victims and other humanitarian organizations throughout the world, and provides humanitarian relief aid to victims, including medical supplies, food and clothing

    Oxfam International  A group of organizations working worldwide to find sustainable solutions to poverty, suffering and injustice

    Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University. ISIM applies scientific, legal and policy approaches to international migration issues.

    International Crisis Group (ICG) This multinational organization aims, through extensive fieldwork and high-level advocacy work, to prevent and resolve deadly conflict. Full reports available online

    Migration Dialogue (UC Davis) Provides information and analysis on issues of international migration

    Migration Policy Institute Studies the movement of people worldwide. The site provides articles, news and data on four research areas: migration management, refugee protection and humanitarian response, North American border issues, and immigrant settlement and integration.
