UTLN: Access to Tufts E-Mail, Electronic Resources & TUSK for Clinical Faculty
 

A Universal Tufts Login Name (UTLN) is required for access to electronic resources, TUSK, our wireless network, and Tufts email. 

  • Clinical faculty of the School of Dental Medicine should ask their department chair to have Kevin O’Dea assign them a UTLN.
  • Clinical faculty of the School of Medicine (TUSM) who are listed in the Tufts Directory should follow either of the procedures below.
  • TUSM clinical faculty who are not yet listed in the Tufts Directory should first contact Faculty Affairs Coordinator Norma Springer (617.636.6631).

TUSK Access - all Tufts staff, faculty, clinical faculty and students automatically have access to TUSK with their UTLN. If you need to put up coursework on TUSK and need write access, please contact TUSK.

In-Person Requests

In-person requests can be made at the Computer Support Info Desk on Sackler 5 (617.636.2947).

  • Bring your valid Tufts ID or other proof of status.

  • Complete the Health Sciences Campus Account Application form. Copies are also available in the Library Systems Office. Be sure to read and sign the University Responsible Use policy on the second page of the application. A telephone contact number is required.

  • Generally, the account can be created within 24 hours, but often can be done while you wait. If it cannot be completed while you wait, you can either pick up the UTLN or receive it by fax or telephone.

  • You should change the initial password to something of your own choosing by logging into Trumpeter, clicking Change at the top right, and following these instructions.
Fax Requests

Fax requests can be sent to the Library Systems Office @ 617.636.4039:

  • Print and complete both pages of the Health Sciences Campus Accounts Application form.
    • A telephone contact number is required.
    • Include a fax number so that account data can be faxed to you.
    • Please be sure to sign the application; unsigned applications cannot be processed.
    • Read and sign the University Responsible Use Policy on the second page of the application.
  • Make a legible copy of your valid Tufts ID or proof of status.
  • Fax completed, signed forms with the copy of your ID or proof of status to: 617.636.4039, ATTN: Library Systems Office.
  • Once we have received and verified your paperwork, a UTLN and/or Trumpeter email account will be generated, generally within one business day.
  • A data sheet containing your login information (username and temporary password) will be faxed back to you using the fax number supplied on the application OR if you prefer, we can call you with your login information.
  • You may change your password to something of your own choosing by logging into Trumpeter, clicking Change at the top right, and following these instructions.
