HP Scanjet 7650 Directions

 

To Begin

Double click “HP Director” icon
Once the “HP Director” opens up, choose from the following options:

To A Scan Plain Color Picture

    • Double click the “Scan Picture” icon
    • Place the original picture face down on the scanner glass or face up in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)

  • Click the “Scan” button
  • Once the scanning is complete, click “Accept”
  • A Pop-Up will display and ask you if you have more pictures to scan
      • Click “Yes” and click “New Scan” if you want to continue scanning more pictures
      • Click “No” if you don’t have any more to scan
  • The “HP Image Zone” program should automatically opens
  • To save the file, click the “Edit” tab on the top
  • Select the image by checking the “check image” box
  • Click the “Save as” link on the bottom left corner
  • Save the file to your USB stick or desktop

To Scan Document and Save It As TIF or PDF

  • click “Scan Document” icon
  • Place the original document face down on the scanner glass or face up in the ADF

  • Click the “Scan” button
  • Once the scanning is complete, click “Accept”
  • A Pop-Up will display and ask you if you have more pictures to scan
      • Click “Yes” and click “New Scan” if you want to continue scanning more pictures
      • Click “No” if you don’t have any more to scan
  • Choose a name and a location to save the document
  • Pick either tif or pdf as the file type

 

To A Scan Document as Text Using OCR

  • Click the “Scan Document” icon
  • Place the original document face down on the scanner glass or face up in the ADF

  • Under “Document”, click “Yes” on “Scan for editable text (OCR)”
  • Click “Yes” if the original document contains graphics; otherwise, pick “No”
  • Under “Scan to”, you have 5 different choices, pick one
  • Click the “Scan” button
  • When the scanning is finish, click “Accept”
  • A Pop-Up will come and ask you if you have more documents to scan

    • Click the “Yes” button
    • Place the next document face down on the scanner glass or face up in the ADF
    • Click the “New Scan” button
    • When the scanning is complete, click “Accept”
    • Keep repeating the previous FIVE steps until you have finished scanning all documents
    • Click “No” on the Pop-Up
    • Save the document
