Document Delivery Services available:
ILLiad
Members of the Tufts community can register with ILLiad in order to:
- Submit requests electronically for books, articles, theses, patents, and more available at Tufts libraries or from outside of Tufts
- Order articles directly from databases via

- Save contact and account information for future use
- Track current and outstanding requests
- View and print articles and chapter excerpts (PDF format)
- Keep a record of titles requested in the past
- Request rush processing

BLC WorldCat
BLC WorldCat is a single, searchable catalog of books and audiovisuals owned by participating libraries of the Boston Library Consortium. The service is available to Tufts University library patrons at no charge and allows them to do the following:
- Simultaneously search many Boston Library Consortium catalogs
- Request books and audiovisual materials that are unavailable from Tufts University libraries
Use ILLiad to request books or audiovisual materials from another Tufts Library or if you are requesting any journal articles.

Tufts/Tufts Medical Center staff, alumni, associate members, & unaffiliated users can register with Hirsh Health Sciences Library and Loansome Doc in order to:
- Request copies of articles found on PubMed
- Order directly through PubMed
- View and print these articles (PDF format)

Alumni of Tufts University may use the following services:

- Receive a discounted rate - $11 per article requested
- Direct Borrow
- Submit requests electronically for books, theses, and other items owned by Hirsh Health Sciences Library
- Save account information and request history for future use
- Track current and outstanding requests
- View and print pdf fomat journal articles and chapter excerpts
- Request rush processing

Direct Borrow
The general public can register with Direct Borrow in order to:
- Submit requests electronically for books, theses, and other items owned by Hirsh Health Sciences Library
- Save account information and request history for future use
- Track current and outstanding requests
- View and print pdf fomat journal articles and chapter excerpts
- Request rush processing
If requesting articles available in PubMed via normal processing (non-rush), use Loansome Doc instead.
