Book Scanner Directions
 
The book scanner is located across from the Library IT Service Desk on Sackler 5. Here are some basic instructions on how to use the scanner. If you have issues, please contact the Library IT Service Desk Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm, Friday 9am-7pm or via phone at 617-636-2947.

Scanning to Email

1. Choose book or document scanner.
2. Select "Scan to E-mail" and click accept.
3. Choose file format, color, and resolution.
4. Place document in scanner.
5. Press "Scan".
6. Crop and edit as needed.
8. Enter e-mail address.
9. Press "Send".

Scanning to USB

1. Choose book or document scanner.
2. Select "Scan to USB" and click "accept
3. Choose file format, color, and resolution.
4. Place document in scanner.
5. Press "Scan"
6. Crop and edit as needed.
7. Press "Save".
8. Insert USB drive.
9. Press "Accept".
10. Name and save.

Printing to Pharos

1. Choose book or document scanner.
2. Select "Scan to Printer" and press "Accept".
3. Select number of copies, color or B&W, resize or actual size, single sided printing or duplex, and click accept.
4. Place document on scanner.
5. Press "Scan"
6. Crop and edit as needed.
7. Select "Print".
8. Enter in a username and password
9. Select "Print"
10. Retrieve at Pharos station.

Scanning to Google Docs

1. Choose book or document scanner.
2. Select "Scan to Google Docs" and press "Accept".
3. Enter g-mail address and press "Login".
4. Choose format, color, and resolution.
5. Place document on scanner.
6. Press "Scan".
7. Crop and edit as needed.
8. Select folder.
9. Name file and press "Next."
