This collection of clinical textbooks can be browsed by clicking on the book jacket or searched using natural language or Boolean logic. It includes atlases, compendia of diagnostic tests, drugs and evidence-based treatment reviews, as well as works on biochemistry, cardiology, dentistry, endocrinology, internal medicine, neurology, nutrition, oncology, psychiatry, public health, and pulmonology.

Ovid MEDLINE links from articles reviewed by these systematic reviews via its EBM Topic Review links. Because of problems with our PubMed icons, users should search the database directly for known citations.

Compendex     [Indexes and Abstracts]

Compendex is the online version of Engineering Index. It covers all of the literature in engineering, but is particularly good for civil, mechanical, and chemical engineering. For standard service a password is not required.For enhanced service providing personalization, alerting, and search history, you will need to create an account with a password.

Derwent Innovations Index     [Indexes and Abstracts]

A resource for patent literature from 40 patent issuing authorities. Uses the ISI search interface and links forward in time to citing patents and backwards in time to cited patents. Coverage from some source patents begins in 1963.

Google Scholar     [Indexes and Abstracts]

Google Scholar searches the Web for scholarly material and links to library catalogs for books and the full text of articles, which may be available from Tufts-licensed providers or for a fee from publishers. For articles, follow the "Get This Item at Tufts Link." For books, click on the Library Search link and go to the Tufts Libraries catalog (in the upper right-hand corner). Off-campus users must set up their Scholar Preferences to include Tufts University in order to have direct access to the library's resources. In Library Links, type Tufts and then click on Save Preferences (in upper right-hand corner).

Lexi-Comp Online for Dentistry     [Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, and Handbooks]

Its drug monographs can be searched by keyword. Pills and other pharmaceuticals can be identified by shape, color and markings. Detailed color photographs, drawings, and radiographs are included. MEDLINE contains over 11 million journal citations and abstracts in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, healthcare systems, and pre-clinical sciences. Ovid's version links from citations to its evidence-based-medicine databases, articles available full text @Tufts, and ILLiad. Click More Limits to restrict results to subsets for bioethics, dentistry, complementary medicine and others; particular publication types or age groups; and other factors.

This holding file for citations waiting to be assigned their MESH subject headings and entered into MEDLINE also includes publishers'in-process records that may never be entered into MEDLINE. Most records have abstracts.

The US National Library of Medicine maintains this guide to health information, which lists authoritative websites by topic, directories of healthcare organizations, a medical encyclopedia and dictionaries, health information in Spanish, information on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, health news, and links to clinical trials.

This 3D model of human anatomy by Anatomy.TV on Ovid includes sections for the head and neck, thorax and abdomen, spine and joints, as well as functional anatomy. Users may drill down through layers of musculature, neurovascular supply to the skeleton, each with accompanying text focused on the cursor. Its Anatomy Trains segment presents a unique 'longitudinal' view of myofascial anatomy.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information's databases, including PubMed (MEDLINE), OMIM, GenBank, PubMedCentral, and the National Library of Medicine's catalog, can be searched by selecting them from Entrez's leftmost drop-down menu. PubMed covers the journal literature in the fields of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, healthcare systems, pre-clinical sciences, and bioethics. Full-text coverage of Tufts-licensed journals is available via the blue Tufts icon on its Citation and Abstract displays. Click the Tufts tab above displayed results to limit to our holdings. Direct links to the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, which Tufts licenses via Ovid, are lacking.

Access to 2 modules, "U.S. Businesses" and "HealthCare". "U.S. Businesses" is a database of 14 million U.S. businesses containing verified data, updated monthly. Search by business name and type, executive title, sales volume, year established and more. "HealthCare" provides detailed information about 855,000 physicians and dentists, searchable by name, gender, state of license, medical school attended, and other criteria.
