Database with searching capabilities of animal taxonomic names with access to old zoological literature including all zoological taxa described between 1757 and 1764. Links to the digital editions of taxonomic literature including various editions of Linnaeus. The project has various collaborators that may add information to the database.

AVMA animal health studies database  2016   [Database]

Search for studies relevant to a particular condition, provide health data or a sample from a normal animal.

BestBets for Vets     [Web Sites]

BETs are reviews of the current best evidence available to answer simple, common and specific clinical questions. They are designed to be a quick and achievable method of enabling the incorporation of evidence into clinical practice. BETs tell you about the evidence on a certain topic—we aim to give an unbiased view of the evidence found. BETs can be used to help vets stay up to date on what the current evidence suggests on a specific topic. They can also be used as a discussion point for practice meetings, journal clubs and teaching.

Canary Database  1966   present [Indexes and Abstracts]

Canary Database is a compilation of curated peer-reviewed research articles related to the use of animals as sentinels of human health hazards. This database contains information added by trained curators in addition to bibliographic records from MEDLINE and other well-known databases. The database includes studies of wildlife, companion, and livestock animals, where either the exposure or the health effect could be considered potentially relevant to human health.

FARAD: Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank     [Web Sites]

FARAD is part of the Food Animal Residue Avoidance & Depletion Program. FARAD is supported by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) and staffed by veterinary pharmacologists, toxicologists and food animal specialists from University of California-Davis, University of Florida, North Carolina State University, Virginia-Maryland and Kansas State University. FARAD provides open access to comprehensive up-to-date information and data resources for food animal drugs. FARAD provides science-based estimates of safe withdrawal intervals for food-producing animal species that have been treated with or exposed to drugs or other chemicals.

The International Veterinary Information Service (IVIS) provides full-text access to books, conference proceedings, consensus statements and guidelines, journals and online courses. IVIS is free to veterinarians, veterinary students, and animal health professionals. A brief registration is required.

NBII Wildlife Disease Information Node  2002   [Indexes and Abstracts]

WDIN is a collaborative project working to develop a Web-based monitoring and reporting system to provide state and federal resource managers, animal disease specialists, veterinary diagnostic laboratories, physicians, public health workers, educators, and the general public with access to data on wildlife diseases, mortality events, and other critical related information. Data are contributed voluntarily, with partners deciding which data they choose to share. The resulting distributed wildlife disease data warehouse can be a valuable resource for all to share and use to enhance the understanding, surveillance, management, control, and prevention of wildlife diseases around the world.

ProQuest Agricultural Science Collection     [Indexes and Abstracts]

ProQuest Agriculture Journals contains the leading agricultural journals published in North America. The database consists of around 300 titles, with most of them being available in full-text. ProQuest Agriculture Journals covers a wide range of agriculture-related topics.

PubAg  2014   [Indexes and Abstracts]

PubAg is a portal to research published by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) scientists. SORA: Searchable Ornithological Research Archive  2004   [Web Sites]

SORA is the world's first and largest open access ornithological publications archive. SORA provides access to an extensive library of ornithological literature of international scope, and detailed material documenting the history of ornithology in North America over the last 120 years.

VetSRev - database of veterinary systematic reviews  2012   [Web Sites]

This database is produced by the Centre for Evidence-based Veterinary Medicine (CEVM). The database is powered by refbase, an open source database front-end for managing scientific literature & citations. It is a public database of citations for systematic reviews of relevance to veterinary medicine and science. The systematic reviews in VetSRev are found by searches of the PubMed and CAB Abstracts databases using specialised search filters, as well as through alerts and contact with systematic review authors.

VIN     [Web Sites]

The Veterinary Information Network includes interactive message boards, reference center, full text library of books and conference proceedings, OSHA Center, continuing education courses, free classifieds and listings in a database used by pet owners. VIN is free to veterinary students, residents and faculty.

World Animal Health Information Database  2004   [Indexes and Abstracts]

The WAHID Interface provides access to all data held within OIE's new World Animal Health Information System (WAHIS). A comprehensive range of information is available for disease events; six-monthly reports describing the OIE-listed disease situations in each country; annual reports providing further background information on animal health, on laboratory and vaccine production facilities, etc.
