Ninth Annual Berger Family Technology
Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Medford, MA, March 16, 2006-
The ninth annual grants from the Tufts University Berger Family Technology Transfer Endowment has been awarded
to 2 projects:
- Developing a Digital Repository Service for Datasets proposal submitted by: Edward Oberholtzer from Tisch
Library; Anne Sauer, Director, DCA and University Archivist; Robert Chavez, Technology Manager, DCA; Robert
Dockins, Digital Resources Archivist, DCA; and David Kahle, Academic Technology.
- Video in the Tufts Digital Repository submitted by Thom Cox and Beverly Gobiel from Tisch Library; Anne
Sauer, Director, DCA and University Archivist; Robert Chavez, Technology Manager, DCA; and Robert Dockins,
Digital Resources Archivist, DCA.
The Berger family has been a generous donor to Tufts University. Over the years they have contributed to the
renovation of Tisch Library and established an endowed professorship in the College of Engineering. Members of
the Berger Family Technology Transfer Endowment Advisory board are: Fredric S. Berger, P.E., Senior Vice
President, Louis Berger International, Inc. in Washington, DC; Dr. Gregory Crane, Winnick Family Chair in
Technology & Entrepreneurship; Dr. Robin Kanarek, Dean of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences; Dr.
Linda M. Abriola, Dean of Engineering; Dr. Amy Friedlander, Senior Program Manager at Shinkuro in Washington,
D.C.; Dr. Carol Flynn, Chair of the Library Committee; Dr. Susan Martin, President of SKM Associates, Inc.
in Marston Mills, MA; Jo-Ann Michalak, Director of Tisch Library; and Dr. Don Weingust, Chair of the
Computing Facilities and Computer Usage Committee.
