Video Editing
For our purposes, video editing wil refer to the process of selecting the sections of material that will be used in your film (we call these 'clips') from the footage you have shot.
Capture
Before you can edit video, you have to get the footage from your camera into your computer. This process of digital conversion of video into a file residing on your computer's hard drive is known as capturing. We have included a ten step process to assist you in capturing video at the Tisch Library.
Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5
Once you have video in your computer, you will use Adobe Premiere Pro software to edit it, make a composite video, and export it to a viewable medium. As of this writing, the most current version of Premiere Pro is 1.5. This website is not intended to serve as a primer or principle instruction medium for learning Premiere Pro. Excellent materials for this purpose are available at the video editing station in the form of books and tutorial DVD's. We have, however included as a resource some documents to assist you. We have outlined some issues that you may run into that are hard to learn from software manuals. Please see the navigation bar at the left. In addition, below are the most common Adobe Premiere Pro shortcuts.

Page Up – Go to Next Clip
