Microforms & Current Periodicals
The microforms & current periodicals collection houses journals, magazines, and newspapers in several languages, as well as large microform sets and U.S. Government publications. Items in these collections are not available to be checked out of the library.
Located at the far end of the entrance level of Tisch Library, both collections are available for use during all times that the library is open. The microforms & current periodicals desk is staffed the same hours as the reference desk should you need assistance.

Microforms Collection
An alphabetical listing of the complete Microforms Collection is now available, or you may choose to view these holdings by specific subject area, as listed below. These lists include direct links to the library catalog, and guide/index information where applicable.
| Arts/Humanities | Medicine |
| Engineering | Science |
| General | Social Sciences |
All materials in this collection are included in the library catalog, except U.S. Government publications and individual titles within one or two large microform sets, some of which are accompanied by guides or indexes to assist in locating information.
There are 5 reader/printers that work for both microfilm and microfiche. If needed, copies are $.10 per page and can be made using either a copy card or coins (change and copy cards are not available at the microforms & current periodicals desk). Microform images may also be scanned into electronic format for emailing or for saving onto floppy disk, recordable CD, or USB key drive.
Current Periodicals
The current periodicals is a browsing collection, separated into 3 sections: newspapers, math journals, and all other journals; then shelved alphabetically by title within each section. Older issues of the collection are held in either bound volumes (shelved by call number) or in microform. Staff at either the microforms & current periodicals desk or the reference desk will assist you in finding the items you need.
Many of the Tisch Library databases do not provide full-text access to articles. When you have a citation and want to find a copy of an article, use How do I find a Periodical?
Reading Rooms
There are 4 science reading rooms that contain current journal titles (up to one year old) of specific interest to the academic department with which they are associated. Older issues become part of the bound periodical collection at Tisch Library. Only research-level journals are located in reading rooms. The rooms are not staffed, and materials located in them do not circulate.
