Basic computer skills needed to create article links
Copying and pasting
- You will need to use your mouse to copy and paste text. To
select the text, click on the left mouse button. With the left
mouse button still depressed, move the mouse to highlight the
text you wish to copy.
- Copying text
- You can copy your selected text by letting go of the
left mouse button and clicking on the edit menu on the
top of your screen, then choose copy.
- Or, you can copy your selected text by pressing the "Ctrl" and "C" keys
at the same time.
- Pasting text
- Place the cursor (blinking vertical line) where you
want your text to be pasted by clicking once with your
mouse.
- Click on the edit menu on the top of the screen and
choose paste
- Or, you can paste the text you copied by pressing the "Ctrl" and "V" keys
at the same time
Using multiple windows on your computer
- You will be copying links from a webpage in your web browser
(like Internet Explorer or Mozilla)
- Then you will paste these links into a simple text editor
(like Notepad or Wordpad, available on most PCs by clicking
on the Start menu, then on Accessories)
- After constructing your links in Notepad, you will copy the
finished link, log in to your Blackboard site, and paste the
link to the article in your course documents section, or anywhere
Blackboard allows you to add links.
