Hi Abby,
I just wanted to thank you for talking to my Mesoamerican Archaeology class on Wednesday! I appreciate it and know the information will help the students in their research this semester.

-Lauren Sullivan, Anthropology instructor

Dear Chao,
Thank you very much! This semester, I saw a real difference in the level of research my students were able to do.

-Eglal Henein, Romance Languages professor

This was very informative, I just wish it happened earlier in the year because I've already had 2 research papers and I was pretty lost when I went to search for sources.
-First year writing student

Thanks! This was excellent for where we need to start in this course. I feel that it provided the foundation for what happens throughout the rest of the semester
-Linda Tickle-Degnen, OT Professor

I liked that this session was more student question-lead. Most things, we already know how to do, like searches, since it's basically the same across different search engines and databases.
-Junior, Psychology 41

The session was extremely helpful--my students left with a much better understanding of the assignment itself, which I did not expect. The librarian did a wonderful job tailoring the session to my assignment and helping my students see what specific kinds of sources were most useful for each piece of my assignment. I only wish students were more willing to seek help on their own from research librarians--it seemed that no matter how much I encouraged them to do so, students would not take this step.
-First year writing instructor

Very helpful, learned things that I never would have figured out on my own! Concise enough to still hold attention of students, while explaining important concepts.
-Graduate Education student

This was amazing. I have not been in a formal research setting in over ten years. The librarian made this experience very exciting.
-Sherlyn Fenton, OT graduate student

I think this kind of a class is really useful to help one get started and oriented to the vast resources that are available. And I think it would help me a lot to get started. Laurie is very clear and easy to work with, open to questions
-Harpreet Kaur, OT Graduate student

Hi Regina,
We thank you! I have been getting fabulous feedback from students.& What you provide is a very important part of UEP-ers academic training, so we really appreciate it.

-James Jennings, UEP Professor

Thank you so much, you make research look easy and fun. I can't wait to go to my room and play with the different catalogs and start working on my reference list for the three midterm papers I still have to write.
-Mayeluz Verdecia, Senior, History 3

Good session. I love the fact that you actually gave us a preliminary and extensive bibliography to start our research, as well as your contact info for further questions. Thank you.
-Alexander Antoniou, Senior

As always this was great - Connie's sessions always teach me something new, even after more than ten of them.
-Anna Hardman, Economics Instructor

These sessions really do help to make students aware of what is available to us.  There is a lot more than I knew of and it also helps to know how to refine our searches.
-Vanessa Garcia, First year writing student

I am much better prepared. Previously, I was not informed on how to do searches and research using the computers at the library. Now that I know, I can now gather more useful research using the library and not just the internet.
-Juan Novales, First year writing student

The library session was specific to the topic and gave the students the basic resources they need. In that respect, the best session I’ve had in my 12 or so years. The librarian looked at my course materials ahead of time and based her plans on it. Also, it was a clear and good-humored presentation.
-Jan Swafford, first year writing instructor

The presentation was very inclusive, and I feel incredibly well prepared to begin my research now. I think this program should be run for all freshmen, not just for specific classes, however. Everyone should know how to navigate the databases and the library catalogue. Also, I've had similar presentations in high school, which were extremely boring because they weren't hands on presentations. It's really helpful to be able to use each of the resources as you explain them. Thanks a lot!
-Kara Murray, first-year student

Dear Abby,
The session with you proved very helpful to my students. You may see them hovering around the reference desk next semester when they begin their projects. Many, many thanks for all taking the time and the care to teach the students the many useful research and reference tools.
