What is DOI?

DOI stands for Digital Object Identifier, a system used "for identifying and exchanging intellectual property in the digital environment". Many of the Tisch Library databases use DOIs to provide links to individual articles. In some cases the DOI will link to the citation and abstract of an article, with the option to select the full text of the article in either HTML or PDF format. More information is available at the DOI website at http://www.doi.org/
