The success of your search depends on how well your search language matches that of the source you are using.
Find a known book, article or author in library catalogs or databases; learn how these sources describe your topic.
Use the Catalog//database language (subject headings, descriptors, etc.; the special language used in the Catalog/database to classify and index books and journal articles by subjects) for more effective and efficient searches.

I. Books

Sources for books: Library Catalogs and Google.Books;
Tips:
- find a known title or author in the catalog; use that record to find more books on Italian cinema and related topics;
- browse by subject on filmmakers, art historians, critics and so on;
- use a Course Reserves text to find more books on Italian Renaissance Art (including online reference works);
- apply the above search technique to find books on film theory, cinematography, and storyboard;
- see keyword searches in the section on Journal Articles.
