The ninth installment of Tisch Talks, Tisch Library's ongoing audio-magazine series. A podcast interview with Dale Peterson, author of "Jane Goodall: The Woman Who Redefined Man". The interview is a discussion with Dale about his career as a non-fiction writer, his evolving relationship with Jane Goodall, her continued work in the fields of primatology, ethology and conservation; and Dale's future research and writing projects.

Dale Peterson, multi-award winning Tufts University lecturer and author of Jane Goodall: The Woman Who Redefined Man, will discuss Goodall’s revolutionary personal and professional journeys. Reception and book signing sponsored by the Tufts Bookstore will follow the talk. Exhibit in the Tisch Library lobby on the author will run until January 7, 2008.

Friends of Tufts Libraries Author Talk by Jonathan Wilson (posted: September 21, 2007)
On Friday October 12, 2007 from 3:30PM – 4:45PM, in the Hirsh Reading Room, Friends/Parents Weekend Authors Talk guest speaker, Jonathan Wilson, Fletcher Professor of Rhetoric and Debate and Director of Creative Writing in the English department, author of the biography, Marc Chagall, will discuss how Chagall's work was influenced by the major historical events that he experienced. Book signing sponsored by the Tufts Bookstore will follow the talk. A reception for Friends and Parents at the Granoff Music Center from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM will follow the book signing. Exhibit in the Tisch Library lobby on the author will be on display from October 15, 2007 - January 7, 2008.
Tisch Library Rooftop Garden Exhibit (posted: August 31, 2007)
Tisch Library’s rooftop will undergo an exciting change from an underused area to an attractive plaza that will welcome the Tufts’ community and its visitors. Tufts University has selected renowned sculptor and public artist Jackie Ferrara and eminent landscape architect M. Paul Friedberg to transform the upper level of Tisch Library’s rooftop into a sequence of spatial areas that expand the variety of activities and events that can take place there.
The proposed model and exhibit of Tisch Library Rooftop Garden by Jackie Ferrara and M. Paul Friedberg is on display in the corridor to Tisch Library’s The Tower Café until January 14, 2008. Stop by and see it!
Scientific Landmarks Exhibit (posted: August 31, 2007)
A new exhibit is on display in the Tisch Microforms and Current Periodicals Department. It showcases pages extracted from original manuscripts, such as The Origin of Species, renowned in the fields of science and technology. The exhibit embodies the passion and dedication each of the scientists had for science. The manuscript extracts are from Microform F701, which is a comprehensive collection of the source material in the history of science. Tisch Library’s Microforms and Current Periodicals Department is proud to house these influential works.

Food Policy exhibit in the Tisch Lobby. (posted: August 13, 2007)
Please stop by and take a look at our Food Policy exhibit in the Tisch Lobby. The exhibit, entitled "Who do you want to share the library with?”, is just a part of our educational campaign about the Tisch Food Policy. By late August we will have posters and table tents in place as well as the exhibit to try and show the rationale behind the food policy.
Current Exhibits in Tisch (Posted: May 17, 2007)
- The 2007 Reunion Classes Exhibit— showcases photographs and memorabilia that commemorate the people, places and events special about each reunion class. Tufts Photo Gallery features 150 years of student life at Tufts.
- Imaginary Spaces to Realized Spaces, Jackie Ferrara & landscape architect M. Paul Friedberg have been commissioned by Tufts to transform the Tisch rooftop plaza.
- T J Anderson, Austin Fletcher Professor of Music Emeritus and one of the leading composers of his generation, taught at Tufts for 18 years (1972-1990). His music, recordings, papers, and writings are highlighted in this exhibit.
- Tisch Media Exhibit showcases 3 aspects of the Tisch Media Center: The collection, student workers and Media Center classrooms.
- Tower Gallery features undergraduate students work majoring in all disciplines accompanied by each artist’s statement on what it means to have their art chosen to be displayed.
