Who Can Borrow
Current teaching faculty, employed staff and students actively
enrolled in a Tufts University degree program can borrow circulating
materials from Tisch Library. Boston Library Consortium
(BLC) cardholders, AS&E faculty emeriti,
Tufts retirees and AS&E Alumni can apply for Tisch Library borrower privileges. AS&E visiting
faculty, scholars and researchers who are sponsored by an
AS&E department or program can apply for borrowing privileges
for the period of their affiliation with the department or program.

Expired Borrowing Privileges
Borrowing privileges for faculty who complete their teaching
contracts, staff who resign from University employment, and students
who withdraw from the University are discontinued. Tisch Library
requires return of all library materials before departure, regardless
of the due date provided at checkout or renewal.
BLC cardholder privileges do not extend beyond the expiration
date provided by the cardholder’s home library. Borrowing
privileges for AS&E faculty emeriti, retirees and AS&E
alumni are issued for one year and may be renewed at, or before,
the expiration date.
BLC Cardholders
As an active member of the Boston Library Consortium, Tisch
Library provides borrowing privileges for circulating books,
government documents and software to holders of current, valid
BLC borrower cards issued at BLC member libraries. BLC borrowers
have in library use of the library media collection. Borrowing
privileges, fines and replacement fees for BLC users are determined
by the individual member libraries. BLC cardholders must register
their cards at the circulation desk. Additional information
regarding BLC cardholder borrowing privileges is available at
the circulation desk.
AS&E Faculty Emeriti
Tisch Library extends emeriti borrowing privileges to AS&E
faculty emeriti following receipt of emeriti status updates
from the office of the University Provost. AS&E faculty
emeriti privileges are issued for one year. Tisch Library requests
that faculty emeriti notify the library for changes of address
in order to keep library accounts accurate. The library requests
that faculty emeriti renew their privileges in person at the
circulation desk. AS&E faculty emeriti can contact the manager
of Access Services at Tisch Library for additional information.
Tufts Retirees
Tisch Library borrowing privileges are extended to Tufts University
retirees following verification of eligibility from the University
Department of Human Resources. Retirees can contact the manager
of Access Services at Tisch Library for additional information.

apply for Tisch Library alumni borrowing privileges. Application
forms are available at the Tisch Library circulation desk. Tisch
Library alumni borrowing privileges are provided for one year
following verification of alumni status through the Tufts University
Office of Development. Additional supporting personal identification
is required at the time of application.
Tisch Library alumni users can borrow circulating books, software
and government documents from the Tisch Library and the Music
