A study regarding the information needs of veterinary practitioners done by Pelzer in 1989 shows the following information trend. Veterinary journals were the most often used resource for keeping up to date. In fact the majority of the respondents in the study said they read from two to four journals regularly. An additional 21.5% said they read 5 or more journal regularly. This is consistent with another study done by White in 1988 which concluded that a veterinarian should be able to keep up to date by reviewing five key veterinary journals.
