Webster Library Job OpportunitiesLIBRARY ASSISTANT II - Webster Veterinary Library The Webster Family Veterinary Library is a service oriented department that provides information and library services to support the educational, research and clinical mission of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and to foster the development of critical thinking and technology skills needed by students, faculty and staff. In addition to standard library services, the department also maintains a student computing center and provides an ongoing computer skills training program for faculty, staff and students. The library also supports faculty and students in the use of the online course management system and is responsible for the development and maintenance of both the School and Library web sites. Under supervision of the Education Services Librarian, and working closely with other library staff, this position is responsible for a variety of library services including interlibrary loan, document delivery, copy cataloging, patron assistance, and collection maintenance activities. Additional responsibilities include the following:
Basic Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience. Familiarity with automated library systems, Excel, Word, Windows, internet, email, ftp, current interlibrary loan technology, use of photocopier and printer. Experience using interlibrary loan service, familiarity with bibliographic record, online searching skills, and ability to lift 20 lbs. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree with two plus years experience. Experience with ILLiad, OCLC, Rapid, Docline. Library circulation experience. Copy-cataloging experience.
