Borrowing from Other Libraries

Interlibrary Loans (ILL)

Tufts Veterinary students, faculty, and staff who need material not available at the Webster Library may submit forms for items needed. The ILL staff person will attempt to borrow or get copies of material from other libraries. Please check the Tufts Online Catalog for holdings before submitting a request. Note: A growing number of journal articles are available online. Please check the online catalog for complete holdings information.

Please supply a full bibliographic citation and give the citation source, (e.g., Medline) because national and regional lending agreements among libraries require that we supply complete basic information about the book or article requested. Your request will be delayed if the information is not supplied. Every effort is made to get material as quickly as possible, however, the time required to fill a request varies, and may take up to 3 weeks or more. Libraries are required to observe both the regulations of the lending library and U.S. copyright laws.

Forms for submitting book or article requests are available online through the Webster Veterinary Library website.

Charges

  • Faculty & Staff: $5.00 per completed request.
  • Students: 10 free loans per semester. $5.00 per loan thereafter.

Note: All requests should indicate the latest date that the patron needs the material in order to expedite the processing of the request.
