Nomadic Computing (Wireless)

While the school does provide a state of the art, 20 station computer lab and a cluster of computers in each of the student lounge areas, access to your own laptop will provide you with an advantage in your education. For special TCSVM pricing on laptops, please visit our laptop initiative site.

Nomadic computing with your laptop is supported through the use of Dynamic IP Addressing on an Internet 2 level network plus the location of several wireless network points (YFi compatible). The entire F. M. Loew Education Center has been upgraded to the high speed network and numerous jacks have been added to the generous number already available. The Hamilburg Lecture Halls, also located in the Loew Center have wireless access to every student seat. In addition, the computer lab in the Webster Veterinary Medical Library has been renovated to add more tabletop space, 20 more network connections for student laptop use, and wireless access in every area of the library. The other main auditorium, Varis Lecture Hall has physical network connections at every student seat.

Laptop registration sessions are held at the start of school to assist students with the network configuration of their laptops and ongoing support is provided t by a Library Staff person.
