How to print from your laptop
You can print to the Veterinary Library and Loew Student Lounge printers from your personal laptop if you have the Windows XP or Vista operating systems.
- You can only print while you are on the TCSVM campus.
- Your print job will stay in the print queue for two hours and then it is deleted.
To print to library printers, a small program must be installed. This program can only be installed while you are on the TCSVM campus and connected to the campus network.
To Install Wireless Printing:
- Download the Pharos remote print software (you must be on the TCSVM campus).
- Locate the file you downloaded, tcsvm_community_for_W2K.exe, and double click to run the program.
- Click on install. This process takes a few minutes.
- Click on finish when it is done.
To Uninstall Wireless Printing:
- Go to Start -> Programs -> Pharos -> Uninstall Pharos.
- Click on next.
- Check off Pharos Notify and click on next.
- Click on next and then start. This process may take a couple minutes.
- Click on finish when done.
- Click ok to reboot your computer.
Printing from Veterinary Library and Loew Student Lounge computers
- Printing requires a JumboCash account, accessed with your Tufts ID.
- To send a document to the laser printer select File -> Print.
- Choose a printer... Toucan = color; Panda and Zebra = black & white
- When prompted, create a username (required) and a name for the print job (optional).
- Go to the computer near the laser printer. Enter your username (step 3) and insert your Tufts ID into the card reader.
- A list of documents will appear on the screen. Use the mouse to select your document and choose print.
- The printing cost is automatically deducted from your account. If the amount available in your account is insufficient, the card will be ejected.
Printing costs: $0.10/page (black & white), $0.30/page (color).
