Webster Family Veterinary Library Access Policies

The Webster Family Veterinary Library is intended for the use of Tufts students, faculty and staff.

Non-Tufts persons may visit the library and use materials needed for professional or scholarly research purposes not available at local college or public libraries. Persons having no affiliation with Tufts may use materials on-site only. Exceptions are made for ARC members (must show an ARC I.D.), BLC members (must show a BLC I.D.) and Webster Family Veterinary Library Special Users.

Special user privileges are granted to:

• DVMs practicing or residing in New England;
• Researchers working with a Tufts faculty member;
• Others having a documented need to borrow materials from the Webster Family Library.

To apply for a Special User card, an application form must be filled out and valid identification must be provided. Please contact us for the application form. Upon approval of the application, a Special User Card, valid for one year, will be sent to the applicant. Special User privileges include:

• Borrowing of non-reserve items
• Access to the library during open hours
• Use of electronic materials, on-site only
• Delivery of articles from other libraries through Loansome Doc – for a fee (Library Services Charges)
• Research – for a fee (Library Services Charges)

Outside visitors should call or e-mail to schedule an appointment in advance, weekdays between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, to ensure staff availabillity and to arrange parking and building access with campus police. Contact Us.
