Computer Lab Policy

Welcome to the Webster Veterinary Medical Library Computer Laboratory. We hope you enjoy the use of this facility, which includes "state of the art" computers, software and very high-speed networking.

The computer lab is a multi-purpose lab. It is the public computing facility as well as a training facility for the Vet School community. Occasionally the lab is closed to public computing during training. Whenever possible, the lab will remain open during training, as long as the conflict of public computing and training is not too great.

In order to serve the Veterinary School community, a few guidelines are provided below.

  • The computer lab is available for use by students, staff and faculty of the School of Veterinary Medicine only. No spouses or other family members and friends may use the facility. The lab manager may request ID's if there are questions of eligibility.
  • No food and no drink are allowed in the computer lab.
  • Personal files should be saved to your own floppy or zip disc, not to any computers in the lab. No guarantee is made that files saved to computers will be preserved.
  • The resources in the computer lab are made available for curricular related activities. Casual use of the Internet and printing of material that is not curricular related is not permitted. (printing charges)
  • Printing multiple copies of any document is not permitted. Use the copy machines please.
  • Veterinary School faculty may reserve the computer lab for curricular use. Prior arrangements must be made. Please email Betsy Like or go to http://www.library.tufts.edu/vet/elforms/index.html and fill out the web form to reserve the lab
  • No personally owned software of any kind may be installed on the computer.
  • Only laptop computers registered through Pelican can connect to the Tufts DHCP network.
