How Do I Apply?

Apply online each April, July and November for Summer, Fall and Spring semesters respectively (including applications for renewal). Link to the application becomes available only at those times.

In addition, application forms are available at the Tisch Administration Office during the same time periods. Application forms are not available before the specified dates

Applicants will be notified of assignments. If an assigned study space is no longer needed before the end of the assigned time period, the assignee should notify the Administration Office in order to provide the space to a requestor from the waiting list.

Faculty studies in Tisch Library include 5 private studies, 4 carrels and 4 table seats located on level 1 of the library. Faculty study spaces are assigned to Arts, Sciences & Engineering teaching faculty, teaching emeriti and faculty on sabbatical who are engaged in research requiring access and proximity to library materials. Due to the small number of spaces, faculty study facilities are not assigned as offices. Private studies are equipped with telephone and data connections. Carrels and table seats are accessible to data connections.

Eligibility AS&E teaching faculty, teaching emeriti and faculty on sabbatical will be given preference for faculty study space. Space permitting, AS&E special appointments, non-teaching emeriti and visiting scholars may be assigned Faculty study space.
Library Materials All Library materials retained in faculty study spaces and lockers must be circulating items that are properly checked out in the name of the study assignee. Library materials that are not checked out or non-circulating materials will be removed and shelved.
Data Connections Data connections are available in faculty study areas. Study assignment confirmations will include instructions, as needed, for connecting to the network. Problems with data connections should be reported to the Library Systems Office.
Telephone Connections All private faculty studies have phone jacks that can be activated. Assignees will need to provide Telecommunications with an IDR including a departmental account number for activation and monthly charges. All telephone service charges are the responsibility of the assignee. Problems with telephone service should be reported to Telecommunications.
Keys The Administration Office will distribute keys to Faculty study assignees. Please report loss of a key promptly to Buildings & Grounds in order to obtain a replacement key. In the event of a forgotten key, please contact Campus Police. Faculty study assignees are responsible for charges incurred from Campus Police for unlocking a faculty study or from Buildings and Grounds for replacing a lost key.
Personal Belongings The Library is not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal belongings including computer equipment left in faculty study space or lockers.
Visitors In consideration to other Faculty Study assignees, please do not invite visitors to Faculty Study areas or offices. Faculty study space and lockers are intended for use by assignees only.
Suspension of Privileges The Library reserves the right to suspend Faculty study privileges if a Faculty member does not follow this policy.
Vacating Faculty Study Space Faculty studies and lockers must be emptied of all material and keys returned to the Administration Office when vacating a faculty study. Personal materials left in the Faculty study areas or lockers after vacating the faculty study are not the responsibility of the Library and will be removed.
