Peter Levine - Friends of Tufts Author Talk (posted: October 9, 2008)
Peter Levine, the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service's newly appointed Director of Research & Director of CIRCLE, will be the Friends'/Parents Weekend featured speaker on 10/17/08 from 3:30 - 5 PM in Tisch Library's Hirsh Reading Room. Levine's newest book, The Future of Democracy: Developing the Next Generation of American Citizens, focuses on the urgent need for young people to become civically engaged. An exhibit about Levine and the past & future of democracy will be on display in Tisch Library lobby from September 26 - November 13, 2008.

Caution! Banned Books Exhibit (posted: August 26, 2008)
A new exhibit has been installed in celebration of Banned Book Week (September 24 – October 4, 2008). The exhibit showcases some of the notable books banned throughout
history. Included are children’s tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and Alice in Wonderland.
The Pulitzer Prize winning novel A Thousand Acres is featured, as well as an American Heritage Dictionary. Stop
by the lobby and see why these and other books have been banned. This exhibit will be on display until October 29,
2008.
